Energy Performance Certificates:
I specialise in residential energy assessment, providing Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's). These are required as part of the Home Information Pack (HIP), which is required for all houses and apartments / maisonettes etc., which are being marketed for sale.
I can normally complete an assessment and lodge it on the government database - Landmark , within 24 hours. This should allow you to get your property onto the market without delay. I will forward the EPC to you and your nominated HIP supplier or estate agent electronically as soon as it is lodged.
The Energy Performance Certificate is the result of a detailed survey of the property’s dimensions and construction age and type, together with its heating, insulation and lighting systems, and it contains valuable information as to the current energy efficiency and running cost of the building, together with measures, listed in cost order, which can be taken to improve its efficiency. It is a real measure of its current environmental impact, and how it can be improved.
The visit to your house will take around 45 minutes or more, depending on its size and construction. Be suspicious of any assessor who takes less than this time – are they doing the assessment with sufficient care? The house and its systems require accurate measurement and examination, and this takes time. Take care with your EPC – it is taken into consideration by potential buyers of your house. Rest assured that I will take care with the assessment to ensure its accuracy.
